Sales Prospectus: Promotional Pages

Book agents hired by the American Publishing Co. of Hartford, MT's publishers once again after the collapse of his own company, used the promotional pages at the end of the sales prospectus as part of the high-pressure tactics they were trained to deploy. The description of Pudd'nhead Wilson touts the story as a realistic representation of "Southern life" in the old days, while Those Extraordinary Twins "furnishes the humor" that MT's audience invariably expected in return for their money. How much money they would have to spend depended on the binding they selected, as you can see from both the first and last pages below.
